Bruce and his little sis!
Bruce was rescued from our local tow shelter.
Their vet had done some dentistry. A day or two after we brough him to our adoption center we found him sleeping miserably in the litter boxes. He kept doing this odd thing with his mouth, we could tell he was bothered. We brought him to our vet who determined he needed MORE teeth removed. This would hopefully solve the issue.
We waited a few more weeks, no change. We opted this time to get a second opinion. Bruce LOVED the one on one attention he got at the Vets office (see photo below). She noted the stitches didn't desolve and perhaps that might be what is upsetting him. So she removed them. We waited a few more weeks. No change. We went back to our original vet who was stumped.
At this point it was time for a very costly visit to the Dental specialist who booked 2 months in advance. We waited and thankfully got in earlier.
That day he was examined, and after watching Bruce for a short time, he was convinced, it was his because his lower k9 kept catching on his lip. $2,000 for the specialist, and about $1000 on pre-specialist vet visits.... but BRUCE was back in business! His mouth didn't bother him anymore, and he porked up.. His mouth FINALLY felt better!
Bruce was happily adopted Jan. 2017. He shares his home with his toddler sister who loves him!
Bruce loving the hands on at the VET, he got his teeth examined ;)
