2 year old, Spayed Female
Hi I’m Evie, you may remember me from the November shelter run. I’m a beautiful, 2 year old orange tabby girl!! I’ve had a rough year, and I’m hoping 2018 brings me more love and luck than 2017.
I had a family and something wasn't right. I started grooming, and grooming some more. I groomed away all the hair on my belly! (cats do this when they are anxious or over-stressed!) My family decided to get rid of me because of my over-grooming, so they took me to the local municipal shelter and left me there. :(
This new situation stressed me more, so the people there thought putting me on Prozac would numb the stress. Instead, it made ME numb. I sat in the metal cage for 3 months until GPS rescued me! They could tell right away that I seemed zoned out and not quite right on the medication. Their first task.. to get me weaned from the Prozac. I was slowly weaned and watched carefully for any side effects. Well guess what it’s been weeks with no Prozac, and I’m not grooming excessively! :)
What I AM doing excessively is loving my peaceful foster home! I love love love to lay on the couch against my foster mom's leg and sleep, or hang out on the top of the couch close to her head. At night, I sleep close to her in her bed. <3
I am a playful, affectionate, loving companion to humans and other cats! Now it’s time for me to find a home of my own.
My foster mom's specialty is helping cats through any issues they may have so they can be adopted. Once I'm adopted, she can help another cat who is suffering like I had been! How beautiful is that?? <3 <3
