Piper
7 year old, Spayed Female
Piper, our newest golden opportunity member.
Why? This 7 year old girl abandoned to our local kill shelter. She was miserable. No sign of her wanting to be alive, even after we rescued her, there was no change. She sat in her bed in a ball. Barely lifting her head to eat. We knew the shelter vet noted polyps in her ear. So took her to had her evaluated. Could this be the source of her misery? Our vet said well, I can go and remove the polyps, I'm sure they are uncomfortable. And so her surgery was booked. Little did he know until he was in her ear how deep the polyps were. He performed a special surgery removing the ear canal. She will never be able to grow polyps again. Her recovery was brutal. She wouldn't get out of bed. Not even to toilet. She wouldn't eat. A week went by and suddenly the pain must have eased up and she ate her favorite friskies dry food. After another week or so she began showing her true colors. |

Piper loves to be touching you, on the couch, or next to you half in your lap or in your lap. If you speak to her she knows it and gently sways her tail. She purrs, she kneeds. She has never once went to bite or has used her nails. We actually had to re-check to see if she had nails!
Piper doesn't love other cats but certainly tolerates them. Another words if she was an only cat she'd be thrilled. But living with 5 others seems to be ok as long as everyone leaves her be. Pipers looking for her forever home, she is ready to pass the tourch to the next golden opportunity candidate. Ask about meeting piper, she'd love to rub heads! |
