Every. single. day. thousands of distressed cats are sitting alone in shelter cages where they must endure the intense fear and loneliness of abandonment as well as the risk of being euthanized.
This reality hurts us deeply, and this is why we are here.
Since our inception in August of 2012, we have rescued and transformed the lives of 3411 shelter cats.
We are Golden Paw Society, a 501c3 charitable organization managed entirely by volunteers and the only rescue on Long Island that is 100% dedicated to shelter cats. We rescue shelter cats across LI and the tri-state area, depending on need and our space-capabilities at any given time.
We rely solely on the kindness and contributions of others to continue our shelter cat rescue mission. Having no paid staff, every dollar we receive goes directly to the rescue of shelter cats and their care at our Adoption Center.
Please help us to help them with your donation today!

Our Adoption Center
Home for our rescued shelter cats until they are adopted into their forever homes.
Over 3400 cats have spent their first night here after being rescued from shelter cages.
Here, they are able to decompress in peace and quiet, surrounded by the love of our all-volunteer team.
Many of our rescued cats need to start out in condos/crates in order to feel safe in their new surroundings.
Once they feel safe, the crate doors are left open for the cats to roam freely when they choose to or retreat back to when they need to.
Once fully decompressed, our cats enjoy going from room to room, catching sun spots, gazing out the windows or playing on the many climbers we have for them.
Most of our visitors describe this as "heaven" when they enter, seeing so many happy cats in one place enjoying their lives. THIS is what it's all about.
Your support makes it all possible! Thank you!!
