Feral And Free Cat Sanctuary
Golden Paw Society's Adoption Center is also HOME to a group of feral cats who will live their lives in safety and comfort - with routine medical care, food, and shelter made just for feral cats!
Each of these cats has endured so much stress before coming to us. Most are survivors of neglect and abuse, and are therefore not able to trust humans. They literally have no place to go if not with us.
Once we realized these cats were not going to be adopted, we had to find another way to help them.
Hence, our Feral And Free Cat Sanctuary.
Sanctuary: a place of refuge and protection
When we rescue any cat, we promise them a lifetime of love and care. Adoptable or not, these cats deserve shelter, food, special diets, medication, medical care, and anything else they require to enjoy the quality of life we feel all cats deserve!
Please consider sponsoring one of our FAF Sanctuary residents. Your love and kindness ensures we're able to provide care for our lifetime feral residents and continue to rescue those in need.
Take a look at their little faces below and see if there is one who catches your attention as someone you might like to help us care for.

MEET OUR PERMANENT FAF RESIDENTS
A question we are often asked is, "When you visit a municipal shelter to rescue cats, how do you choose who will come with you?" It isn't about choosing, so much as it about FEELING who needs us the most.
Because we often take truly desperate cats who are either frozen in terror or acting out in horror, we don't actually know what their true personalities and temperaments will turn out to be, and we have gotten ourselves 'stuck' with feral cats. These are the cats who will not be coming around and magically transforming into happy house cats, no matter how much time, patience, love and space we provide for them to decompress and feel safe with us.
Feral cat: an unowned domestic cat that avoids human contact, does not allow itself to be handled or touched, and usually remains hidden from humans.
Feral cats want to be free. They need to be free. Yet they also need to be fed, and cleaned up after, and provided with medical care.
We devoted half of our Adoption Center's full basement to construct our Cattery, complete with heat in winter and a/c in summer, and two outlets (a pet door and a pet window) for the cats to come and go as they please into our cat-fenced backyard, The backyard has a number of insulated cat houses for those cats who prefer more remote living quarters.
This is why we ask for your support for our Feral And Free Sanctuary. Without it, these cats literally have no place to go.
By becoming a sponsor, you are helping to cover the cost of one feral cat's food, shelter, and medical care for one year, and allow us to dedicate more funds towards rescues, as well as daily and emergency care for our cats, making an even greater impact for those in need.
